Listen More, Speak Less

“If Jesus limited himself to speaking only what the Father gave him to speak, if he spoke carefully and prayerfully, if he could have said more at times but held back, what does that mean for us?

It means, in comparison to the volume of words flooding the world, we should let our words be graciously few.”

  1. Thank you for bringing that article to our attention. I’m praying that my words would be “graciously few”. There are so many proverbs that speak to this also. One of my favorites is Proverbs 17:28 “Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.”

  2. Such a great reminder from James 1 “be quick to hear and slow to speak”.
    This requires effort AND discipline!
